I wish on behalf of the management and staff of the Law Development Centre (LDC) and on my own behalf to welcome all students to the Centre. LDC’s mission is to develop legal capacity and maintain high academic, professional and ethical standards in Uganda. LDC conducts long, short and tailor-made courses in law. The established long (one year) courses are the Post Graduate Bar Course and the Diploma in Law Course (Day and Evening).
To provide legal education to lawyers and non lawyers, undertake research in topical legal issues, contribute to legal reform, produce legal publications, teaching materials, law reports and also provide community legal services
The Law Development Centre (LDC) was established in 1970 by the Law Development Centre Act (Cap. 132).
The Centre is an educational institution for higher learning that offers a one year Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice; a one year Diploma in Law course and other various specialised short courses ranging from 1 – 6 months.
To be the centre for quality legal training and high academic and professional standards.
