EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Law Development Centre (LDC) invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the vacant position below, tenable at Kampala campus.
Job Title: Research & Publications Officer (1)
Reports to: Head Legal Resource Centre
Salary grade: LS6
Type of Contract: Fixed term (4 years)
Job Purpose: To assist in the initiation and design of research projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To draft research proposals.
2. To gather, analyses and interpret data for publication.
3. To collect judgments to assist in Law Reporting.
4. To participate in developing research strategies for LDC.
5. To participate in impact assessment and performance evaluation of LDC’s research
findings.
6. To assist in Law Reform activities.
7. To draft papers for various officials to present in workshops and seminars.
8. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Bachelor of Laws - LLB (Hon) degree.
2. Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
3. Must be an enrolled Advocate.
4. At least two (2) years’ work experience in legal research.
5. Must have authored or co-authored at least two (2) articles published in peerreviewed journals.6. Demonstrated experience in legal writing, editing, law reporting and publication.
7. Knowledge of legal research methodologies, research proposal writing, data analysis
and report writing.
